Dettelbach

Situated in the Main valley, Dettelbach has a medieval town-wall with two large gates and many small towers surrounding the historic town center. Walking along the narrow streets among the old half-timbered houses takes one on a journey through the Middle Ages. Additionally, the “Maria in the Sand” church, with its variety of Renaissance and Baroque art, counts among the most attractive sights in Dettelbach. Let this picturesque place enchant you and enjoy the local hospitality, the romantic flair of Dettelbach and its great wines!

Volkach

Another Main Valley destination is the town of Volkach, located at the Main-Loop. Its market square, which hosts various events, is surrounded by Baroque-style houses as well as the town hall and its fountain. The fountain figure depicts “Maria Immaculata” and was built in 1480. The old town has several more sights such as the St. Bartholomew Parish Church or the “Schelfenhaus”. Volkach will also be our lunch stop. Great food and a good glass of wine make life worth living. The culinary spectrum of the Franconian dishes and wine spans from the traditional to the contemporary – dig in and enjoy!

Nordheim and Escherndorf

The third wine town is Nordheim. The bow of the river on the opposite side of the island surrounds it from the West. It is known as the “Altmain”. When arriving in Nordheim, we will taste a wine at Divino Vinothek. Finally, the small town of Escherndorf can be reached by ferry from Nordheim, and is the last stop of the trip, where we will taste some of the best German wines.
