The Faculty is a comparatively recent addition to one of the oldest and most traditional German universities. There have been Chairs of Economics at the University of Würzburg since the Faculty of Law and Political Economics was founded in the year 1582. Since 1968, Business Management and Economics have formed an independent unit. The increasing interest of students in Business and Economics in the past years has meant that we have undertaken a strategic expansion of the Faculty to 25 Chairs and around 3,000 students.
