1,000 careers – 1 story: Alumni Uni Würzburg

Dear international alumni,

Over 150,000 alumni of the Julius-Maximilians-Universität Würzburg (JMU) live and work all over the world today while the connection to their alma mater, one of the oldest universities in Germany and the place where Wilhelm Conrad Röntgen discovered the X-rays 125 years ago, remains stronger than ever.

Staying true to JMU’s motto “Science for Society”, we intend to maintain a long-lasting relationship with all our alumni, national and international, for personal as well as scientific exchange. This was the reason why we founded our Alumni Association more than 12 years ago.

Prof. Dr. Baris Kabak, Vice President of the University Würzburg

In this International Alumni Book, we are proud to present you with the activities of our international alumni from a wide range of disciplines at various institutions in different countries from all around the globe in order to keep you connected with each other and to the University of Würzburg. The list – which contains international JMU Alumni sorted by profession or country – is constantly updated and expanded as our alumni network grows each and every day.

We treasure our alumni and would like to bring back good memories. I thus hope you enjoy leafing through the book. Perhaps you will not only reconnect with some old acquaintances but make new friends.

Thank you for supporting your alma mater and please stay in touch!

Yours, Prof. Dr. Baris Kabak

169 alumni of the university have participated in the first issue of the University of Würzburg's international web magazine. These alumni conduct research and teach worldwide in a variety of subjects. The web magazine will be extended annually. Alumni with an 'ambassador sign' declare their willingness to help students and other alumni of the university, for example during a stay abroad in their own hometown.
